Who has time?

We have been given this unbelievable gift of light from the Lord.  A light to shine for all to see, especially when life is busy and out of control.  His light is meant to shine through us in the craziness of life.

I don’t know about you, but I get so busy with the day to day activities that I forget to shine for Jesus.  It’s so easy to do as life is SO busy!  We fail to remember to live a life that shows it, our light becomes dim.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. Ephesians 5:8-9 (NIV)

I recently stopped in the middle of the day with all the activity around me and sat at the foot of Jesus in prayer. I was tired and overwhelmed from the business of life, and I couldn’t keep up any more.  I decided to make an appointment on my calendar with Jesus.  I scheduled it in just as though I was meeting someone for coffee.  As I sat reading my bible and praying, talking to God, a quietness came on me.  His presence overwhelmed me with reassurance that I’d be OK. I knew at that moment I need to make this an everyday activity. Now, it is my favourite and most beautiful time of my day.  The best part of relationship is time spent together talking and listening.  Since I’ve started doing this, I have found more peace, more clarity, and more energy for my day, week, month and year.  I plan better, I meet more people, and I just get more done!  Who knew a simple time with the Lord would result in better management?

I think the best part about my appointments with the Lord is the ability to shine.  It’s true!  The Lord puts His spot light on me and His word is charging my spiritual light bulb. When I leave His presence my smile is bigger, my eyesight is clearer, and my step has a bounce to it.

I encourage you to schedule time with the Lord everyday and let Him charge your spiritual light bulb of clarity.  You won’t regret it!

Remember…“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14 (NLT)
