Charging our spiritual light

STOP and be illuminated

Have you ever been in a situation that required advice? You just needed someone that can listen.

I have been in many places where I just needed someone to listen and then help me with direction.

As I was growing up and making life decisions, I would often find myself calling my grandma.  She always listened and understood what I was trying to say.  As a young girl, it always intrigued me to listen to her talk. It seemed she had a deep understanding for life’s problems.  Sometimes, I felt she could read my mind.  I soon realized that she was getting her wisdom from reading her Bible and praying.

Many times, as a young girl, I’d go to visit and I’d see her reading her bible and praying.  I always knew when she had read the Bible, a glow surrounded her.  It was as though she was lit up with light. You, too, can have this light.

When you serve the Lord, He doesn’t speak to us through brilliant philosophers, books, and numerous studies.  Rather, it’s our relationship with the Word that brings true understanding and direction for our life.  It’s never a waste of time to read the Word.  The words of the Bible are light for our daily life.

Psalm 18:28 says, “You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light”

When we spend time in the Word, it keeps us illuminated for Him.  The light of His Word helps us with direction, understanding, and wisdom for any situation we are facing.  His Word helps us to make the right decisions regardless of our intelligence.  That’s the secret of His light.  It’s the Word that illuminates our way, not our wisdom or intelligence.

I encourage you today to spend time in His light – spend time in the Word.

The next time you find yourself needing to make a decision, STOP!  Stop and spend time in His Word and then pray. You’ll find He has a solution for you. Why? Because Jesus loves you and wants the best for you.
